EC is a public, non-profit corporation with the mission of promoting public understanding and stewardship of wetlands through education, research and restoration efforts. Founded in 1972 by Dr. Edgar Garbisch, EC is supported by contributions from supporters and outside agencies, and the revenue generated from its own Restoration and Nursery Departments, and publication sales.
