Restoration > Project Tour > Fishing Bay

The County road adjacent to Fishing Bay was threatened with collapse from waves and high tides. A Living Shoreline was constructed and planted to reduce the wave energy and protect the road. The new marsh is approximately 4,000 linear feet & provides 17 acres of marsh habitat. Over 300,000 plants were grown in EC's Nursery & planted by EC staff.

This project was made possible by a grant through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) to Dorchester County.

This site is approximately 17 miles south of Rout 50 and Vienna, MD. Google Map Directions

Beware: These roads are subject to flooding during high tide events.
