In Talbot County :

Oyster restoration efforts in Talbot County began in 2008 when 177 waterfront property owners volunteered to grow oysters in 854 oyster cages along the Tred Avon River. In August 2009 the oysters were relocated to an oyster sanctuary in the Tred Avon near Oxford (read article).

In 2009, with the help of Environmental Concern, the program will expand to San Domingo Creek and La Trappe Creek.

If you live on San Domingo Creek or La Trappe Creek, have a pier, and would like to participate in this free program to expand oyster populations and help improve water quality in the Chesapeake Bay, please contact:
