The theme for 2008 is:

Marshy Migrations: Journeys of a Lifetime

- What animals migrate? Think outside the bird-box!

- why do animals make these seasonal trips?

- what will these wayfaring critters need along the way?

- what do these animals need to watch out for?

- what role do wetlands play in these journeys of a lifetime?

The challenge consists of two parts, Writing and Illustrating. Part one is the writing competition. Open to all students in Grades 7-9. Once the winning manuscript is chosen, a call for artists will be made inviting students in Grades K-6 to illustrate the story's words.
