What is the Wetlands on Wheels?

The Wetland on Wheels is a 38' mobile classroom that visits elementary schools and events in the Delmarva area. Highly qualified wetland educators travel with the mobile classroom to events and schools. During school visits educators teach wetland lessons to children in grades K -5.

What We Provide:

School Visits: A K-5 curriculum is correlated to the voluntary state curriculum standards. A presentation of fun, interactive wetland lessons and activites are led by a Wetland Educator. Materials and handouts are provided for your use before and after the visit. Transportation of mobile classroom to your schoo is includedl.

Events: Hands on wetland displays and activities for all ages

What You Provide:

• Level site easily accessible by our driver that can accommodate a 38 foot long trailer
• Electical outlet within 75', ideally a 240v50 amp RV Type, but not necessary
• Map of school and parking area before our arrival.
• Parking site be marked off either by cones or tape for the day of arrival
• School Visits: Schedule of classes - including times and participating grades prior to arrival of the Wetland on Wheels.

Reservation Fee:

School Visits: The mobile classroom fee is $200 per day with a three day minimum for each school. Scheduling is flexible and determined by the school.  Please allow 30 minutes for each K-2 grade,  50 minutes for 3rd, and 60-70 minutes for 4 th and 5 th grade.  Five to ten minutes between classes is ideal for transitions. There is an additional cost for hauling depending on distance from St. Michaels.
