Come creep through wetlands with microscopes, goggles and nets exploring the amazing animals the wetlands support, through fun interactive games, gooey wetland hikes, reptile identification, dip netting and more. Touch a fish; kiss a crab, morph as a dragonfly as you learn all about the life under the water and in the muck of fresh and salt water wetlands. Each morning includes a trip to the Waterfront Wetland Learning Center at Environmental Concern in St. Michaels, with a chance to check out four different types of wetlands. Eco Survivor Adventurist
August 1 – 5, 2011
Join the YMCA of the Chesapeake and Environmental Concern in Survivor Adventurist. Get down and dirty in a competition for survival. Trek through wetlands, catch frogs, explore funky wetland adaptations, test weird wetland recipes in a wacky food contest, and build a cattail boat, and more while competing with your friends to be the last Wetland Survivor standing. Each morning includes a trip to the Waterfront Wetland Learning Center at Environmental Concern in St. Michaels, with a chance to checkout four different types of wetlands. Camp Dragonfly “Dragons in the Marsh!”
July 11–15, 9 am – noon
Campers will be introduced to the ecology of freshwater wetland and riparian habitats that are vital to the health of the Chesapeake Bay. The camp will integrate exploration, interactive games, creativity, and scientific study into child-sized fun, with the goal of building cooperative peer relationships, positive esteem, and environmental stewardship.Ages 6–8

Camp Egret “Wetland Survivor: Boot Camp!”
July 18–22, 9 am – 3 pm
Campers will be challenged both physically and mentally as they compete in exciting Survivor‐style competitions. Designed to build positive peer cooperation and problem solving skills, activities will introduce campers to wetland ecology, watershed dynamics, and their “aquatic footprint.” Campers will also engage in a fun, local project that promotes a strong stewardship ethic.Ages 9–12

Books, Bogs, and Bugs Series (age 4 - 8)
Books Bugs and Bogs is a fun, engaging and hands-on program designed to introduce 4-8 year olds to wetlands through dress- up, crafts, felt boards and books. Each program in the series is 60-90 minutes. Please see the events calendar for when the program will be at your local Eastern Shore library.
Skins, Skulls, and Shells (age 9 - 13)
Investigate the animals that live in and around the wetlands of Maryland as we challenge your students to identify creatures using actual artifacts. Students can inspect Beaver skulls and pelts, shark eggs, turtle shells and more. This program is perfect for your 9-13 year old up and coming naturalist. Wetland Survivor (grade 4 - 8)
This program puts physical, mental, and strategic limits to the test. Participants must rely on their wetland knowledge as they compete in field-day style challenges which introduces them to the functions and values of wetlands
