Summer Camps

The following programming is suitable for Summer Camps.

Books, Bogs, and Bugs Series (age 4 - 8)

Books Bugs and Bogs is a fun, engaging and hands-on program designed to introduce 4-8 year olds to wetlands through dress- up, crafts, felt boards and books. Each program in the series is 60-90 minutes.  Please see the events calendar for when the program will be at your local Eastern Shore library.

Skins, Skulls, and Shells (age 9 - 13)

Investigate the animals that live in and around the wetlands of Maryland as we challenge your students to identify creatures using actual artifacts.  Students can inspect Beaver skulls and pelts, shark eggs, turtle shells and more. This program is perfect for your 9-13 year old up and coming naturalist. Please see the events calendar for when the program will be at your local Eastern Shore library.

Wetland Survivor (grade 4 - 8)

This program puts physical, mental, and strategic limits to the test. Participants must rely on their wetland knowledge as they compete in field-day style challenges which introduces them to the functions and values of wetlands

Marsh Explorers (grade 2-5)

Jump in! Wetlands are powerful places in which to learn.  Students who participate in the Wetland Discovery Camp will learn to see wetlands as incredible living ecosystems, teeming with an amazing diversity of plants and animals.  Through fun hands-on activities, interactive games, crafts, and direct exploration, students will discover the three components that make wetlands unique, how plants and animals adapt to their environment and the importance of wetlands to humans and the entire earth.  The week’s activities end with a closing ceremony that ties together all the students have learned about wetlands.

NOTE: Parents be forewarned, your children may come home and bark and peep like frogs, choose to chase dragonflies rather than watch TV, or cook you a breakfast of cattail pancakes.

This program is week long@ Chesapeake college for ages 7-10 registration through Kids on Campus
