Elementary School

The following programming is offered for children in elementary school.

Wetlands on Wheels (grade K - 6)

This mobile classroom travels to Delmarva schools to present fun, hands-on, and academically challenging wetland education programs.

Traveling Trunk (grade K - 6)

This lending resource is the perfect supplement for your wetland curriculum. With a WOW! Wonders of Wetlands Curriculum guide for you to keep, our trunk offers skull replicas, books, tracks, wetland information, and more!

Books, Bogs, & Bugs Series (age 4 - 8)

Books, Bogs, & Bugs is a fun, engaging and hands-on program designed to introduce 4-8 year olds to wetlands through dress- up, crafts, felt boards, and books. Each program in the series is 60 minutes.  Please see the events calendar for when the program will be at your local Eastern Shore library.

Skins, Skulls, and Shells (age 9 - 13)

Investigate the animals that live in and around the wetlands of Maryland as we challenge your students to identify creatures using actual artifacts.  Students can inspect beaver skulls and pelts, shark eggs, turtle shells, and more. This program is perfect for your 9-13 year old up-and-coming naturalist. Please see the events calendar for when the program will be at your local Eastern Shore library.

Wetland Survivor (grade 4 - 8)

This program puts physical, mental, and strategic limits to the test. Participants must rely on their wetland knowledge as they compete in field-day style challenges which introduce them to the functions and values of wetlands.

Winter Ecology (grade 4 - 8)

This class allows students to take an up-close look at what happens to wetlands in the winter, what animals have stuck around, and what they do to survive. For more information, please contact Laurie Raines at 410.745.9620 or by email
