Want to reduce the amount of stormwater runoff from
your property? Come learn the benefits of
rain gardens and using native plants to spruce up your yard and improve
the health of the Bay! This year don’t landscape,

Rain Barrels of Fun

Spring showers bring
great flowers, but rainfall sends harmful stormwater runoff into
the Bay. Help do your part by installing
a rain barrel at your home! This rain barrel workshop will discuss
how runoff from your property affects the bay, and will demonstrate
simple techniques to help reduce runoff. Supplies will be available
to create a
basic rain barrel to take home.

If You Can't Beat 'Em...Eat 'Em

From pest to pesto, Environmental
Concern will teach you the how to correctly identify invasive
plant species and turn them
into tasty recipes. After learning the benefits of native plants,
the class will consist of a look-and-cook session using invasives
from around the area to create appetizers and desserts.

Native Plant Sale and Open House
June 12 9am- 4pm
|
See what the country's first wholesale
wetland native plant nursery has to offer. Purchase plants for
your rain gardens and native landscapes. Food, gifts,
and crafts will be available throughout the day. Activities include
raffles, facility tours, and more. (Plant sale will also be open
Friday, June 11.)
